Latin America in the School of Education: a Research Showcase/ América Latina en el departamento de educación: una muestra de investigación

 

On  Wednesday 15th November 2023 Dr Anne Luke held an event to showcase the work and work in progress on Latin America that is underway in the School of Education at the University of Leeds. This bilingual seminar (Spanish/English) welcomed two theatre professionals from the Granma Province of Cuba, Mariann de Jesús Muñoz Brunet (Arts instructor, dirección Municipal de Cultura, Bartolomé Masó, Cuba) and Yamisleidis Reyes Beltrán (Actor and Artistic Director, Consejo Provincial de las Artes Escénicas en Granma & Guerilla de Teatreros theatre company, Bayamo, Cuba) who talked about Theatre pedagogy and practice with and for children in the Granma province of Cuba

We also welcomed additional presentations from:

  • Pablo Cheyre, What is the life we value? Exploring well-being and its barriers from the voice of young Chileans;
  • Ana Karen Reyes-Bailon, Children's culture in Chihuahua, Mexico: how it is constructed in a context impacted by violence?; 
  • Johanna Quina Fustillos, Mental Health: an actor in the relational experience of being Adolescente. An explorative study with young participants in Quito- Ecuador
