Arts-based research with young people for literacies learning in US and UK

The seminar will showcase arts-based approaches to researching languages and literacies with young people in the US and UK.

The seminar will also invite discussion around implications for educational and social inclusion.

The Inclusion, Childhood and Youth (ICY) Centre brings together experts in interdisciplinary childhood and youth studies, with a particular focus on inclusivity and equality.

As part of this focus, the ICY Centre is currently engaged in exploring and discussing how to do research, co-production and intervention work with children and young people who may feel excluded by classic research methodologies.

The AILA Creative Inquiry and Applied Linguistics Research Network is an international network of applied linguists and artists researching the affordances of arts-based inquiry for understandings and enhancing communication and social justice.
