Peter Hart and Elena Bracy publish new article on children and young people's right to a private life
This article uses data collected just before the pandemic to ask whether or not children and young people should have a right to a private life, and whether sending information home from school without a student’s consent is circumventing their right to that privacy. We identify particularly ethical issues, including whether using information to gain compliance to behaviour management policies is acceptable, and where information provided by schools may create difficulties for young people at home.
